Location:
You may want to drive over to Phillip Island. You have plenty of choices on the island. You can stop at Cowes, enjoying shopping, fish and chips on the beach or taking your time over coffee at one of the many cafes or dine at one of the many fantastic restaurants. Visit the wineries on the island and stop at the quiet seaside village of Rhyll.
You can also stroll the Koala Conservation Centre or Phillip Island Wildlife Park, where both locations give you the chance to see animals up close. Don’t forget to indulge yourself at Panny’s chocolate factory or challenge yourself with mini golf, the maze, illusion rooms or puzzles at A’Maze and Things. There is also the National Vietnam Veterans museum and of course the Phillip Island racing circuit which comes alive to the sound of bikes and V8 supercars. If you still have the time (and energy), there are ocean fishing charters, helicopter flights, ocean adventure tours, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest fur seal colony at the Nobbies. Of course, there is also the famous nightly penguin parade where you can watch little penguins emerging from the surf, filled with food for their young and waddling up the beach to their burrows.
Don’t forget to drop into Churchill Island with it’s historical homestead and gardens, walking tracks, farm animals and monthly farmer’s market. All these attractions are at your fingertips, just short drives away, allowing you to fit the most possible into your day. Try to find anywhere else with so much to see with the ease of so little distance to travel.
